Skin Care During Monsoons(Rains)
May 16, 2009 by ashwin · Leave a Comment
Taking care of your skin during monsoons is often difficult to manage and one of the most common difficulties that arise during these times would be fungal infections. Special care needs to be taken during these times as given below:
- Acne break-outs are pretty common during this season and you may use medicated face-wash to keep that in check.
- Use oil-free moisturizers as your skin gets hydrated during these times. However, avoid using heavy, oily creams.
- Use Oil Free toners, sunscreens. Try to wash your face as often as possible to keep fresh and hydrated.
- If your skin tends to be excessively oily, use an ex-foliate toner or an astringent. One of the reasons why your skin tends to attract fungus is due to the sweat. Use lotion-based moisturizers and try and scrub at least once or twice a week.
- Avoid excessive water contact with the skin on your palms since it this season also causes peeling of skin.
Use sunscreen at all times, even if you think it isn't that hot. UV rays will still hit your skin and it doesn't necessarily have to be hot. To avoid a sticky feeling off your sunscreen, try to modify it into a lotion-based or a gel-based one.
Your skin requires special care during the rains and the above points are only a starting point for special skin during such times. Can you think of any more ideas to protect your skin? Feel free to comment.

May 9, 2009 by ashwin · Leave a Comment
Any kind of problem must be solved, but before getting solve anything you should be able to assess the situation. Hair loss is one of the most common, but often frustrating problems many people around the world face. This post is divided into two parts for the sake of continuity.
For what hair related conditions should you see a hair specialist?
Thinning hair, pattern baldness, itchy scalp, flaky scalp, recurring instances of dandruff are some of the most important conditions you will need to show yourself to a hair specialist.
What questions will you be asked when you go to a hair specialist?
The better you answer the questions asked by a hair specialist, the easier it will be for the experts to assess your situation and give proper solutions. For that reason, if you have a bunch of questions that you can expect from the doc, you can be better prepared. Here are some questions that can be asked:
How long have you been experiencing hair loss?
How does your diet look like, each day? Do you smoke cigarettes or drink alcohol? If yes, how frequently?
Do you have dandruff, itchy, dry or oily scalp? What kind of hair have you got -- oily, normal, dry?
More to be continued on the next part on how to assess your hair loss. This way, you can take informed decisions about your possible hair care solutions.
Profile Body Firming Anti-Cellulite Treatment: That Fat Needs Good Riddance
May 2, 2009 by ashwin · Leave a Comment
In a previous post about cellulite called Easy and Effective Tips To get Rid of Cellulite, I had mentioned how cellulite forms and some tips on how to combat it. The extent of damage it can do to your first impressions for whoever might happen to see it. Using the new Profile Body Firming Anti-cellulite treatment, these first impressions can be made better.
You got to fight cellulite, now that it has formed and the profile Anti-cellulite treatment helps firming up the skin, instead of leaving it dangling due to all that fat.
Profile Anti-cellulite treatment cream -- available in a mint scent and an orange variation -- is off the stables of the latest advances in the body-slimming cosmetics. This product helps tone your skin, bring it back into shape and render it all that beauty that must have got rounded off.
The profile cream also has an element of caffeine astringent that helps boost blood circulation, fluid reduction and tightens the skin. Some of the other ingredients are the essential oils that help detoxify and make the skin look younger, fresh and firm.
Your lower back is important and the area behind your thighs is fat-loving. All you need to do is to maintain a healthy diet and not allow it to happen ever. Even if it did happen, using the Cellulite Treatments available at Salonhive should try to surmount your problem.

While the shampoo performs the basics, the conditioner prevents buildup is pretty effective. You may smooth and straighten, rinse and amaze yourself.

The 6 steps to the FHI Heat's Texture Smooth System:
- Shampoo your hair with the Deep Cleansing Shampoo
- Condition your hair with the Silicone Free Conditioner without fear of buildup
- Apply the Texture Smooth Permanent Cream no closer than 1" from scalp, pinch check every 5 minutes for perfect texture, whether pin-straight, or just taming kinks.

3 Easy Hair Care Tips You Should Know
May 2, 2009 by ashwin · Leave a Comment

Lustrous, shiny, beautiful hair need not be a blessed thing for a woman; it could happen if you do certain things right. Hair must be taken care of-- that's been said and now is taken as a gospel truth. Here are a few handy tips to help you take care of them. In fact, there are about 5 of them
How do you comb your hair?
It is very important for you to bend down a little and allow your hair to fall over your head. Yes, you can't see your hair( at least not near the scalp anyway). Pick a light, well-bristled comb and start combing from the scalp area to the front ends. This helps distribute the natural oils, brings about a shine and luster and ensures that hair doesn't come off with the comb.
Do you Shampoo right?
Ensure that your hair is wet before you shampoo and then take a little into your hands. Rinse the shampoo on your palms and then apply it. Let it lather for about 30 seconds up to 3 minutes and then wash it off. Repeat if you have to. Wash it with cool water since cool water can help retain some moisture in the hair shafts and at the base.
Keep it dry, at all times
Hair -- either when you are blow-drying it or whether you are combing it -- must be kept dry at all times. This is to minimize hair breakage. Also, dry hair allows itself to be styled better than wet hair, so it should be easy for you to experiment.
There are plenty of other tips that we will cover in future posts at salonhive, however, taking action is critical. Nothing ever gets done if you don't do something. Your hair makes you look beautiful, it's now your turn to make it look its part.
